Brooklyn prosecutors in New York, working with the FBI, have disrupted an Eastern European cryptocurrency scam network accused of stealing tens of millions of dollars from Americans. The operation, carried out last week and announced on Wednesday, resulted in the seizure of 112 servers and the shutdown of 241 websites linked to investment scams that targeted Russian-speaking Americans. Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said these criminals had stolen millions from their victims before attempting to scam them a second time with false promises to recover their funds. No arrests were made. According to FBI figures, cryptocurrency fraud losses in the United States reached $11.4 billion in 2025, a 22% increase from the previous year.
