New York-based startup Uranium Digital raised $16.5 million in a Series A led by Blockchain Capital, with several existing investors returning. The funds will support a Solana-based platform that tokenizes physical uranium and records ownership transfers on a blockchain. Each token will represent one pound of U₃O₈ stored in accredited facilities in North America, while Chainlink will provide proof-of-reserves and ConverDyn will handle storage. The platform targets institutions and features a round-the-clock order book, real-time position management and digital warehouse receipts redeemable for the underlying material. Tokenization could lower the current minimum trade size of roughly 100,000 pounds, worth about $7 million to $8 million.
