Naoko Tosa’s solo exhibition, “Generative Beings,” will run at Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art from November 7 to 22, 2026. It presents a roughly forty-year survey divided into four chapters, including An Expression, acquired by MoMA in 2011, and new Rinpa works from 2026. Since the 1980s, the artist has pursued an alternative approach to image generation by capturing with high-speed cameras the effects of sound, vibration, air, gravity, and fluids. Admission is free, the museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and closed on Mondays, while opening-day activities featuring collector Takeo Obayashi and a performance of Sound of Ikebana are scheduled for November 7.
