The United States has sanctioned Autistici/Inventati, an Italian technology collective, by designating it as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) entity. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the decision on August 26, targeting what the government describes as digital infrastructure enabling far-left violent extremism. The designation freezes all of the collective’s assets and bans all transactions with US entities. Founded in 2001, the collective provides encrypted communication services, managing roughly 16,000 mailboxes, 1,500 websites, 5,500 mailing lists, and 10,000 blogs. The collective is notably accused of providing services to Rose City Antifa and Jane’s Revenge, with the US drawing links to designated entities including Hamas and Hezbollah.
