MSC, the world’s largest container shipping line, has suspended its service to Russian Black Sea ports following a drone strike. Ukraine launched Operation MoLoChKa on July 6, 2026, a campaign of drone strikes targeting Russian-linked ships with over 236 attacks carried out in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Kalyon and Fesco, two other carriers, have also halted their operations in the region. Maritime traffic through the Turkish Straits dropped from roughly 200 vessels per day to 25-30, and the disruptions could cost Turkey 20 billion dollars.
