Less than a month after promising Ukraine a license to manufacture its own Patriot air defense interceptors, President Donald Trump has changed course. During a cabinet meeting at Camp David, he stated that handing over the underlying technology was a hard thing to give away. This initial promise was made during a NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Experts estimated that full-scale Ukrainian production would take at least a year, and potentially several years. As of late July, no details regarding a revised policy or alternative support measures had been announced.
