US President Donald Trump and tech executives have signed a voluntary accord called the « Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities » aimed at ensuring AI models « behave as intended. » The agreement places much of the responsibility for managing frontier AI risks on developing companies, with requirements for internal controls, independent external audits and board-level oversight. Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI, Nvidia and xAI were among the signatories. Trump rejected the idea of slowing AI development, citing competition with China, and signed an executive order on the same day replacing the term « Artificial Intelligence » with « Super Intelligence. »
