Trezor says data breach affects another 67K US customers

Hardware wallet provider Trezor announced that a data breach at its logistics partner ShipMonk compromised the personal information of an additional 67,000 US customers. The exposed data includes names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses and order details for purchases made between November 2019 and August 2021. Trezor stated it had received written assurances from ShipMonk regarding data deletion, but the provider allegedly failed to erase the information. This breach exposes customers to phishing and social engineering risks aimed at stealing seed phrases controlling their cryptocurrency holdings. In the first quarter, these attacks accounted for $306 million out of a total of $482 million lost in the crypto sector.
