Treasury yields rise as oil gains and U.S.-Iran tensions fuel inflation fears

The 10-year yield, the main benchmark for mortgages and consumer credit, climbed above 4.736%. The moves came as the 60-day deadline for the U.S. and Iran to secure a peace deal expired Monday, with Iran ruling out an extension and warning of an offensive stance if diplomacy fails. Oil prices rose as investors priced in a potential disruption to the Strait of Hormuz, fueling inflation concerns. Deutsche Bank noted that markets weakened over the past 24 hours, with bonds and equities declining amid negative geopolitical headlines from the Middle East.
