Treasury yields inch lower as investors pare back Fed rate hike bets

U.S. Treasury yields declined on Monday following a sharp selloff the previous week. The 10-year yield settled at 5.255%, the 30-year at 5.614% and the 2-year at 4.797%. Friday’s disappointing jobs report helped bring down yields and eased concerns about another rate hike. Traders are now pricing in an 82% probability the Federal Reserve will keep rates unchanged at its next meeting. Investors are awaiting the minutes from the Fed’s September meeting, due on Wednesday.
