Tottenham signs Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea in rare cross-London deal

Tottenham signed Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk on a season-long loan from Chelsea for the 2026-27 campaign, with an option to buy for £75 million. Chelsea had originally signed Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023 for around €70 million, rising to approximately €100 million with add-ons. Mudryk has not played a competitive match since November 2024 due to a meldonium doping case that was resolved in July 2026. The transfer reunites him with head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who managed him during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk. This marks the first direct player movement between Chelsea and Tottenham since 2009, with Chelsea also selling defender Tosin Adarabioyo to Tottenham on the same deadline day.
