Anatoly Yakovenko, Solana’s co-founder known as Toly, endorsed SGP-003 on August 25, calling the fee restructuring a « no brainer yes vote. » The proposal introduces a fixed inclusion fee of 2,500 lamports alongside a variable resource fee tied to compute units, which could escalate from 1 lamport per 10 CUs to 1 lamport per 2 CUs depending on future evaluations. BlueShift, Firedancer Development, and Hylo have signaled support, while developers criticize what they call « yolo economics, » warning of unpredictable cost escalation. This proposal marks Solana’s first on-chain governance vote, requiring one-third validator participation for quorum, yet only 13-14% supported it as of August 25 against a 33% threshold.
