Bitcoin bridge Boltz has suspended its swap service indefinitely, citing a surge in AI-assisted attacks that outpaces its ability to patch vulnerabilities. The company said it dealt with several exploits over the past months, each contained, but the pace of attacks accelerated recently. Boltz, a non-custodial service allowing users to move Bitcoin between the Lightning Network and the base layer without surrendering custody, said no user funds were ever at risk. The platform currently holds around $262,000 in total value locked. Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet warned that AI enables attackers to uncover vulnerabilities at machine speed, comments that came as fallout from the Coldcard exploit continued to grow, with losses nearing $130 million.
