Morgan Stanley identified several Russell 1000 companies that raised their dividends by at least 15% quarter over quarter over the past 12 months. East West Bancorp raised its quarterly dividend by 20 cents to 80 cents per share in January, with a 2.4% yield and a 16% gain year to date. Packaging Corporation of America was also highlighted, with a 20% increase to its quarterly dividend in May, bringing the annual payment to $6 per share and offering a 2.5% yield. Devon Energy saw its dividend jump 33% to 32 cents per share, with the stock up 31% year to date, as the investment bank called the energy play its favorite in the sector as oil prices approach $100 per barrel.
