Tether Says EQIBank Exposure Is Below 0.034% After US Asset Seizure

Tether has stated that its assets held with its offshore banking partner EQIBank represent less than 0.034% of its total group assets, or below approximately $64 million based on its reported asset base of roughly $187.75 billion. U.S. authorities have seized funds tied to Capstone, a payment processor used by EQIBank to move client funds, with approximately $83 million in bank accounts and 1.18 million USDT involved. EQIBank has described the affected amount as roughly $89 million and warned of potential pressure on its ability to continue operating. Tether has confirmed it had no knowledge of the conduct alleged by U.S. prosecutors and has not disclosed the exact amount it holds with the bank.
