As of November 8, 2026, Tesla’s Robotaxi service in Austin operates from 5 AM to 2 AM, for 21 hours a day. The window from 2 AM to 5 AM is reserved for charging and maintenance, while Tesla targets continuous operation by the end of 2026. The company attributes the expanded schedule to advances in its unsupervised FSD technology, which was approaching two million miles by the end of the third quarter of 2026. The service also offers trip sharing, improved accessibility options, rear camera feeds, and a Calm Mode. Austin serves as Tesla’s primary proving ground as the company expands across Texas and Florida, competing with Waymo, which already operates around the clock.
