Tesla and Xpeng were the only automakers offering public test rides at the Paris Motor Show, held from October 12 to 18, 2026, as part of the Autonomous Lab initiative. Tesla deployed six Model 3 sedans equipped with its Full Self-Driving (Supervised) software, while Xpeng showcased two L03 coupe SUVs using its Navigation Guided Pilot system (NGP VLA 2.0). Both systems are classified as Level 2++ advanced driver assistance, requiring constant human supervision, and neither is currently approved for consumer use in France. Tesla’s FSD software has logged over 100 million km in Europe, while Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng personally tested the system in Paris, with the company planning a European launch by the first quarter of 2027. No European automaker participated in the public test ride program.
