Tempo, the Layer 1 blockchain developed by Stripe and Paradigm, has integrated Open USD (OUSD), a stablecoin backed by reserves held at BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY. The integration represents over $400 million in liquidity on Tempo, offering businesses a new solution for payments, settlement, and treasury management. OUSD distinguishes itself with zero mint and redeem fees, as well as no volume caps, allowing enterprises to move large sums without transaction costs. Between 140 and 200 businesses participate in OUSD’s collaborative framework, including Visa, Mastercard, and Coinbase. Average transaction fees on Tempo are below $0.001, making it one of the most competitive infrastructures for enterprise operations.
