San Francisco-based startup Tab has emerged from stealth mode with a $300 million pre-seed valuation, an exceptionally high figure for a company still operating behind a waitlist. The company is building an AI agent that operates natively within iMessage and WhatsApp, capable of booking flights, making calls, drafting emails and processing payments after user approval. The agent uses its own computing environment and retains context across conversations. Tab was founded by Brennan Erbz, Stafford Schlitt and Ammar Amdani, with backing from SV Angel, Valar Ventures and American Spirit. The startup has not disclosed user numbers or revenue figures.
