Strategy, a Bitcoin treasury company, plans to finance additional Bitcoin purchases by issuing preferred shares, particularly through its STRC program. Executive chairman Michael Saylor said the company could create up to $30 billion in digital credit using its existing balance sheet, without raising additional common equity or requiring further appreciation in Bitcoin’s price. CEO Phong Le said digital credit issuance would be the main method for acquiring more Bitcoin. In the third quarter, Strategy reported net income of $19.53 billion, driven largely by a $20.91 billion gain in the value of its digital assets. Its holdings reached 848,517 BTC as of October 25, up 26% year to date, while the $30 billion figure represents potential capacity rather than an announced fundraising target.
