U.S. stock futures were flat Tuesday night after the major averages fell for a third straight session, as a global bond rout and higher oil prices weighed on sentiment. The Dow shed 116 points, the S&P 500 slipped 0.7% and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.3%, with tech stocks leading the decline. Long-term bond yields hit multi-decade highs, with the 30-year Treasury yield reaching a fresh 19-year peak and Japan’s 10-year yield climbing to its highest in three decades. Despite the rise in yields, investors remained confident that economic growth and strong corporate earnings would continue to support equities. The FOMC meeting minutes from July, due Wednesday, are expected to shed light on divisions within the central bank, while major retailers including Target, TJX and Lowe’s report quarterly results.
