Startale Japan opened subscriptions on October 6 for a one-year digital corporate bond totaling 99.9 million yen, carrying a fixed 5% annual pre-tax interest rate and available in units starting at 100,000 yen. Interest and principal will be paid in JPYSC, a yen-pegged stablecoin issued by SBI Shinsei Trust Bank, through the Startale App. The bond, with issuance scheduled for December 1 and maturity on December 1, 2027, serves as a real-world test of how a regulated stablecoin can function within a conventional fixed-income product. If the settlement model works smoothly, the same approach could be applied to larger corporate financing transactions.
