Standard Chartered has signed definitive agreements to acquire 100% of Zodia Custody, a digital asset custodian it helped create in 2020 with SC Ventures and Northern Trust. The deal, confirmed on October 21, 2026, remains subject to regulatory approval, and no financial terms have been disclosed. Zodia’s regulated custody operations will be integrated into the bank’s Financing and Securities Services division, while its software and infrastructure will move into a new independent entity called Zodia Solutions. The transaction consolidates the bank’s licenses, client relationships and operational expertise as it plans to launch institutional custody services for digital and tokenized assets in Singapore by the end of 2026.
