Stablecoin payment volumes reached $482 billion in September 2026, marking a 45% surge from $331 billion the previous year. Business transactions dominated, accounting for 64% of total volume with a 37% increase to $246 billion. Card-based stablecoin spending exploded in Q3, growing 10x to a record $72 billion, with purchases under $50 driving 84% of visible card purchase growth. Despite this remarkable growth, total stablecoin supply remained flat at approximately $304 billion, representing less than 1% growth in 2026. Experts believe stablecoin yield could be the missing catalyst to accelerate broader adoption toward the projected $2 trillion market by 2028.
