SpaceX is reportedly in preliminary talks to borrow approximately $40 billion to fund the purchase of Nvidia AI chips for its data centers, notably the Colossus 2 cluster. The proposed package would consist of $10 billion in bank loans and $30 billion in investment-grade bonds, with a projected closing by 2027. In just four months, SpaceX has raised over $150 billion in total capital, including an IPO worth nearly $86 billion in June 2026 and a $25 billion bond offering that was subscribed nearly four times over. The company aims to significantly increase the Nvidia chip count in the Colossus 2 cluster by December 2026, while its estimated annual revenue stands at $18.7 billion, less than half the proposed debt.
