SpaceX IPO means more to the Gulf than you might expect

SpaceX’s historic IPO, targeting a valuation of nearly $1.77 trillion with the sale of 555.6 million shares at $135 each, will position Gulf sovereign wealth funds among the main beneficiaries. Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, dubbed the Warren Buffett of Arabia, holds a 0.63% stake in SpaceX worth approximately $10.6 billion. Meanwhile, the IMF has revised down its Saudi GDP growth forecast for 2026 from 3.1% to 2%, citing the impact of the Iran war on non-oil activity. Middle Eastern family offices are also planning to reallocate their investments, with 82% expecting to adjust their asset allocations over the coming year, with AI as the leading investment theme.
