South Korea, through its Financial Services Commission, has unveiled a three-phase roadmap for tokenizing traditional financial assets. Tokenized securities covering stocks, bonds, and funds will receive legal recognition on February 4, 2027. The first phase will focus on institutional money market funds, bonds, unlisted stocks, and fractional investment securities. Subsequent phases will expand tokenization to all publicly offered securities before exploring on-chain payments connected with stablecoins.
