Solana has entered the final phase of its speed upgrade with 250ms slot activation scheduled for September 18, 2025 on mainnet at epoch 1037. The ultimate goal for Solana is to reach a 200ms slot time, with progressive reductions from 400ms to 200ms in 50ms increments, each step having its own feature gate. The 350ms and 300ms reductions are already active on mainnet. At 200ms, the network will produce twice as many blocks per day as it did at 400ms, providing faster transaction confirmation times for users and quicker validator rewards.
