Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, known as Toly, proposed on October 24, 2026, an oracle whose validator inputs would be weighted according to the amount of SOL staked. Once the value of tokenized collateral is determined, the system could mint new SOL to facilitate transactions on the network and tax the resulting profits. The idea comes just days after the Alpenglow upgrade went live, reducing transaction finality to approximately 150 milliseconds. It remains a post on X rather than a formal governance proposal, with no scheduled vote, implementation timeline, eligible collateral asset or DeFi platform yet identified. The mechanism could compete with or complement oracle providers such as Pyth and RedStone, while raising concerns about SOL dilution, validator incentives and manipulation risks.
