The team behind the second-largest meme coin has launched a challenge for its community to promote SHIB as a payment method on Crypto.com, following the platform’s partnership with Emirates airline. Several users said they planned to use SHIB for booking flights, while others refused, citing the example of Laszlo Hanyecz who spent 10,000 BTC to buy pizzas in 2010, a sum now worth over $630 million. SHIB price posted an unexpected 35% surge last weekend, before pulling back to around $0.000004702, representing a 12% weekly gain. According to Santiment, 52 whale transactions were recorded during the rally, with large holders taking profits while retail investors joined the move too late.
