Scammers stole approximately $2 million in Ether (ETH) through a bridge to a fake GIWA blockchain that DEX DYORSWAP initially mistook for the project’s mainnet. The fraudulent bridge received about 767.65 ETH from 1,335 addresses, of which 766.25 ETH were drained. GIWA, an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Upbit operator Dunamu, warned on Sunday that its mainnet had not launched and that purported connection details circulating online were false. DYORSWAP said it used its own funds to pay more than 200 ETH in compensation to affected users, while stating that its contracts were not compromised.
