Saudi Arabia’s energy ministry announced that air defenses successfully intercepted a drone targeting the Shaybah oilfield, located in the country’s Eastern Province. The attack caused no reported damage or operational disruption. The site, one of the kingdom’s most significant production facilities, has a capacity of about one million barrels per day. Similar attacks have previously targeted the infrastructure, including in 2019, when gas production was briefly impaired. Authorities and observers are now monitoring possible escalations and any announcements from the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and Saudi Air Navigation Services regarding airspace operations.
