SALT Lending, a Denver-based Bitcoin-backed lender, reports that borrowers are increasingly using its loans for everyday financial needs including tuition payments, business working capital, home purchases and debt consolidation, moving beyond just trading purposes. Borrowers post Bitcoin as collateral, receive cash, and get their coins back once the loan is repaid, maintaining ownership of the Bitcoin and any potential appreciation. SALT offers fixed-rate terms of one, three or five years, with APRs ranging from 7.49% to 10.50%, no credit checks, no income verification, and funding typically within 24 to 48 business hours. Founded in 2016, the company claims it has funded more than $2 billion in Bitcoin-backed loans with a 100% collateral return rate, and currently operates in 47 US states plus Washington, D.C. The figures remain self-reported and unverified by independent parties, with plans for licensing expansion into California and Nevada targeting the 2025 to 2026 window.
