Salesforce has agreed to acquire Rune Technologies, a Washington-based startup that develops artificial intelligence software for military logistics, for $375 million in cash and stock. Founded in 2024 by David Tuttle and Peter Goldsborough, both former executives at Anduril, Rune raised approximately $30 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Point72 Ventures. Its TyrOS platform, already used by the US Army and the US Marine Corps, provides decision support and predictive analytics that operate with limited connectivity. The acquisition, announced on October 29, 2026 and expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal 2027, will strengthen Missionforce, the unit serving national security and defense agencies.
