Ripple’s XRP enabled for FedNow payments via Volante integration

Payment infrastructure provider Volante Technologies has connected its multi-rail platform to Ripple’s network, which enables settlement via XRP, as well as to the Federal Reserve’s instant payment system FedNow. Volante, which processes transactions for seven of the top ten US banks, launched its Ripple integration in October 2015 and became one of the first processors of FedNow transactions when the system launched in 2023. This connection technically allows a bank using Volante to access XRP settlement while also having access to FedNow rails, but these capabilities remain separate and no official Fed endorsement of XRP exists. The crypto market tends to transform this existing technical relationship into a narrative of institutional adoption and government validation, when the reality is that XRP does not flow through Federal Reserve infrastructure.
