Ripple unlocked 1 billion XRP tokens as part of its regular monthly escrow release, according to blockchain tracker Whale Alert. Three separate transactions released 500 million, 400 million, and 100 million XRP. The total held in escrow by Ripple dropped from approximately 32.28 billion to 31.14 billion XRP, representing 31.28% of the fixed maximum supply of 100 billion. XRP currently trades around $1.36, down 0.5% over 24 hours and 8.2% over the past week, despite a 30.8% gain over 30 days. The company has historically re-escrowed a large portion of each monthly release, meaning tokens reaching the broader market tend to be far smaller than the headline figure suggests.
