Ripple News: MPP AI Kit as XRP Payment Demand Rises

Share

Ripple has updated its XRPL AI Starter Kit to version 1.1, adding support for the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), a standard co-authored by Stripe and Tempo for software agents that pay for services without a checkout flow. Developers can now build AI agents that pay for data, computing, and other online services using XRP or RLUSD, Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin. The software remains in beta with no named commercial customer and no published payment volume, limiting the commercial impact at this stage. Ripple has also added Open Wallet Standard support and continues to hedge across multiple protocols, including x402 added in June, rather than committing to a single standard. Extending payment sessions to stablecoins depends on a proposed ledger upgrade that has not shipped yet.
