Reddit CEO Steve Huffman says Google’s AI features reduced search referrals to the platform by more than one million per week in October. The decline did not prevent Reddit’s quarterly revenue from rising 53% to $895 million, while global daily active users reached 130.3 million. However, daily unique users in the United States fell 2% to 50.7 million, marking the first annual decline since Reddit went public in 2024. To reduce its reliance on search-driven traffic, the platform is testing a primarily logged-in experience and pursuing licensing agreements with AI companies, while its shares fell as much as 18% after the results were released.
