Realio Network halts webapp access after security breach drains 124 million RIO tokens

Share

Realio Network, a Layer-1 platform specializing in real-world asset tokenization, suspended its webapp and halted its native chain on August 25 after approximately 124.4 million RIO tokens were drained from platform-controlled wallets and user accounts. The attack compromised signing capabilities on wallets tied to the realio.fund interface and moved stolen assets across five networks: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Algorand, Stellar, and the Realio native chain. Of this total, 113.7 million RIO came from treasury and reserve holdings excluded from circulating supply, while 10.7 million RIO was withdrawn from user accounts, representing approximately 3.3% of circulating supply. MEXC and KuCoin suspended RIO deposits on Algorand, and the native chain was stopped at 10:38 UTC, leaving 2,374 users unable to access their funds.
