Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, warns that the United States is approaching a dangerous point in its debt cycle. The federal government is expected to collect approximately $5.5 trillion in revenue this year while spending is anticipated to be around $7.5 trillion, resulting in a shortfall of roughly $2 trillion. He recommends that investors reduce their exposure to bonds, allocate 10%-15% of their holdings to gold, and hold a small portion of bitcoin as protection. Dalio estimates a US debt crisis could arrive in three years, give or take two. US government debt surpassed $40 trillion this week, while bitcoin surged from $64,000 to nearly $80,000 and gold rebounded from $4,000 to $4,600 per ounce.
