Pi Network officially announced last week the deployment of Protocol 27 on its Mainnet, an upgrade initially targeted for September 15. The development team also presented Protocol 28, which aims to improve transaction data delay handling and enable simultaneous upgrades of groups of smart contracts. Node operators must update their software by October 13, with the Mainnet protocol upgrade scheduled for October 16. The native PI token experienced significant volatility, dropping below $0.083 before surging to a peak of $0.094 before settling above $0.09, with its market cap reclaiming the $1 billion level.
