The September 21, 2026 order, announced October 1, includes 86 bank accounts, 4 investment accounts, 1 insurance policy, and 25 virtual asset wallets. The investigation, conducted by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), is based on the Philippines’ Plunder Law (Republic Act No. 7080) and alleges widespread kickbacks from government projects. The scandal, which surfaced in 2025, has already resulted in previous asset freezes totaling tens of billions of pesos.
