Peru will deploy over 57,000 police officers to ensure security during the regional and municipal elections on October 4, 2026. Nearly 46,000 officers will be stationed at polling places while another 11,000 will handle the transportation of electoral materials. Over 26 million registered voters are expected to participate. These elections will select governors, mayors, and municipal councillors across the country. Results will be confirmed by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).
