OpenAI is reportedly discussing the acquisition of Trail of Bits, a New York-based security firm, according to a post on X. During the first week, Trail of Bits deployed roughly 25 engineers who identified hundreds of vulnerabilities and merged patches across more than 30 open-source projects, including cURL, Python, and Go. On certain projects, their AI-augmented process can uncover up to 200 bugs per week.
