This feature builds on a progression starting with Canvas in 2024 and Workspace Agents in 2026, both integrated into ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, and Edu plans. It was showcased during DevDay 2026 in San Francisco, where CEO Sam Altman delivered a keynote focused on developer tools, AI agents, and the infrastructure needed for collaborative AI workflows. No product named “Spaces” has been formally confirmed yet, with development still ongoing, competing directly with offerings from Microsoft, Google, and Anthropic.
