Abu Dhabi’s national oil company ADNOC announced a multi-year partnership with OpenAI and G42 on November 2, 2026, during the ADIPEC conference. ADNOC will become the first energy company to deploy OpenAI’s Frontier platform across its operations, using GPT models hosted on G42’s infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates. The first phase will focus on full-field development planning, with the aim of reducing a process that currently takes months to just a few hours. Later phases will cover production, processing and trading, as well as workforce training and cybersecurity. Human experts will retain responsibility for key decisions, and the partnership will complement the artificial intelligence platforms and applications ADNOC already operates.
