The OCC has published revised forms allowing its regulators to monitor the financial condition and activity of permitted payment-stablecoin issuers. Qualifying domestic issuers and registered foreign issuers would be required to submit data weekly and quarterly. Subject to Office of Management and Budget approval, the first weekly filing would be due on January 25, 2027, and the first quarterly filing on March 31, 2027. A further public-comment period remains open on the revised forms, so their implementation and any market effects are not yet certain. The documents are intended to track reserves, liquid assets, redemptions and activity, but they do not guarantee that all data will be disclosed publicly or provide additional protection for holders.
