NXP Semiconductors, the Dutch semiconductor giant, is reportedly in negotiations to acquire Ambarella, a specialist in edge-AI vision processors. This potential acquisition would significantly strengthen NXP’s position in the autonomous driving market, where Ambarella develops AI domain controllers from its CV3 series for L2+ through L4 autonomous driving.
