Nvidia is in non-binding talks to provide credit guarantees worth potentially billions of dollars to help Nscale finance its data center campus in West Virginia. Anthropic has agreed to pay approximately $45 billion for computing capacity leased from the campus’s first building, a 460-megawatt facility. The guarantees would primarily cover electricity and construction costs, with the site equipped with Nvidia’s Vera Rubin processors. In return, Nvidia could support chip sales, protect its equity stake in Nscale and improve the cloud provider’s access to credit, while also taking on exposure if the project or borrower encounters difficulties. The discussions remain non-binding, and no formal agreement has been signed.
