Republican French Hill was reelected to the House of Representatives in Arkansas’ 2nd Congressional District against Democratic challenger Chris Jones. He is nevertheless expected to lose the chairmanship of the House Financial Services Committee when Democrats take control in January. Hill sponsored the CLARITY Act and voted for the GENIUS Act, earning an A rating from the crypto advocacy group Stand With Crypto. The crypto-backed political action committee Fairshake spent more than $176 million during the election cycle to support pro-crypto candidates. Representative Maxine Waters is considered the leading contender to replace Hill as committee chair.
